Word For the Year

Two other blogs I frequent have done posts about having a "Word for the Year." I actually had seen this blogged about last year and was kind of intrigued.  So after some long hard thinking, my word for 2016 is Intention. I want to live with more Intention. I want to be more intentional. I want to have more intentional things in my life. I want to be more intentional.

We shall see how I can focus my life on being more intentional and having more intention as I march on through 2016. What's your Word for the Year?

Home Sweet Home

Love mismatched letters.:
I pinned this idea a long time ago as I really thought it was cool and a great addition to a room. Shortly after I pinned it I started hunting (mostly thrifting) for letters for Home Sweet Home. It has taken nearly 2 years but this fall I finally purchased my last letter. Some how I ended up with 3 H's. Not sure how that happened. From Savers to Blessings Abound to the Fleeting Flea to Threasing Bee and Absolute Vintage in Wichita it was an adventure. Several of the letters needed some spray paint and as I hung them today I realized that a few need another coat- oops! Not sure if I like where I put them and the pictures at this level were a bit awkward.

Please ignore my trim that needs painting. I hung mine at dogs eye view on the wall between my front door and garage wall in my family room.  Just something unique. (for now!)

She's 3!

Loving Quotes About Dogs : theBERRY:
My furry baby is 3! The big 3, 21 in dog years. She got herself a can of wet food and a bully stick to celebrate the big day. No funny birthday hats this year.
She still loves her mama the most (duh), her Grammy and her Gramps and then it's up for a debate. Still hard to warm up to other humans. Her best girl is a busy little Doxson, Ollie.
She warms my heart AND keeps me on my toes....

Dogs are THE best!!:

Chicken Crescent Sandwiches

It's bitterly cold today and I picked up stuff at the store to make one of my Mom's favorite recipes, Chicken Crescent Sandwiches. They taste so good when it is cold out!

I made a few substitutions today. I am not a real fan of canned meats and I had some ground chicken in the freezer so I used that instead. Also, I use Tastefully Simple Onion Onion spice instead of onion soaked in milk. Lastly because I used a lb of ground chicken I used 2 tubes of crescent rolls.

Enjoy and Stay Warm!

Slow Cooker Barbacoa

With the start of a new year comes promises to myself to cook more at home and eat more at home, etc, etc. I did my grocery shopping in Iowa before coming back (no ridiciously high food tax like here in crazy KS) and got items to prepare Slow Cooker Barbacoa + several freezer meals, so I am good to go for awhile! I snagged this recipe off Pinterest.  I love Barbacoa but had never attempted it myself.  Taco Republic may just have my favorite Barbacoa and then my brother in law makes a pretty mean recipe too. This one isn't too bad!
