This might be the best invention ever. Discovered and sold at Hy Vee, Rotisserie Chicken already pulled from the bones! Because who enjoys picking the chicken off the bones? I mean Ries likes to stand and see if I drop any but that is a god awful chore.

Booster Jots
My friend Karin gifted me the gift of Booster Jots. Created by Kori Tolbert who battles CF, they are a way to mark your "lines" when you are getting a treatment with words of inspiration. Such a creative idea and to say I loved this gift is an understatement. Your attitude is such a big part of how you handle medical situations and Booster Jots are the perfect reminder to stay positive.
I chose the words "Grateful for" "the good stuff" on my Booster Jots because each Plasmapheresis treatment I receive is a reminder I am lucky to be alive and be getting treatments which allow me to live as close to a normal life is possible. As much as I hate getting a treatment I know there is no other way to keep trucking on. Know somebody going through a medical treatment? Give them the gift of Booster Jots! #ihaveheardofmg #mga5k

Feel Good Jar
Last weekend I opened my 2017 Feel Good Jar! I believe this is year 3 of keeping mementos of things that made me "feel good" through the jar. Included in the jar are cards, ticket stubs, and scrap pieces of paper where I jotted down different memories. What a great feeling to open the jar up and read back through 2017. Lots of great moments, memories and people in my life. For that I am grateful!

Butternut Squash & Black Bean Enchiladas
I'm intrigued by butternut squash- I think it tastes so good and you can use it in so many different ways. At the store a few weeks ago I bought it cut and already prepared not knowing how I would use it. I came across this recipe, Butternut Squash & Black Bean Enchiladas and had the rest of the ingredients so thought why not? It was delish!
Voila! Perfect for a meatless Monday or a low calorie dish. (well minus the sour cream!)
Wordless Wednesday
Ries did not do this and she was not with me in Wal Mart the other day but I cracked up thinking how much she or any dog for that matter would love to be gobbling this up. Insert image of the game Hungry Hippos.....

Where Art Thou?
Long time no post. Truth be told I'm having some technical difficulties. My blogger app no longer works on my phone which is how I generally get pictures to posts. So I'm trying to figure out a new way to get pictures in posts. I have a stockpile of them on my phone from Restaurant Week and just random January fun. January + fun in the same sentence, I know right? In the meantime, if you are local please consider joining us on Sunday February 25th at 1pm at Cyclebar in Leawood. We will be having a Cyclegiving charity spin class with 100% of the proceeds going back to the MGA! To participate you must register here. The best part, we'll serve beer, wine and snacks afterwards!

Lost
You should never say never but I never rarely lose things. I don't intend this to sound braggy, but I can count on 1 hand the things I have lost as they have been memorable events, stuck with me because once again, I don't lose things!
However these days as I transition and settle into this new routine, I feel like I am spinning and unaware of where things are. It's the weirdest feeling. I no longer have clients I am responsible for, I have a new role that I am figuring out my responsibilities. I am carrying to and from home far too much paperwork because I haven't figured out a new jive. I have too many "to do" lists and still coming down off that less critical piece of the job I previously held. And I'm losing things. 3 things to be exact, 2 found.
1. TJ Maxx Gift card from Christmas- probably burned in the fireplace with the wrapping paper and still feeling so upset and angry over this!
2. Christmas gift from a friend (it will remain anonymous because I feel so guilty) however it was FOUND yesterday tucked in my purse.
3. Very special necklace (replacement necklace) from my dad- now hang on, this is a good story!
As I was in a tizzy yesterday, attempting to find the missing Christmas gift, overturning every purse and bag near the kitchen table it could have been in, there was a loud clunk on the floor. I looked down to see the very special necklace engraved with my dads handwriting on the floor. It had broken off from the silver chain it hangs on. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry as I had just gotten home from work. You see my new job is an office in the back of a local hospital and yesterday I walked all over the hospital trying to navigate my way back from getting a salad in the cafeteria for lunch. I got lost. I logged well over a mile in steps trying to find my way back to Suite 300A! After work, I popped into the store to buy a few things before coming home. Had that necklace fallen and broken in any other place but my kitchen floor, it would still be lost. Luckily it was found and before I wear it again, I will be searching for a new secure chain!
Cue in Amazing Grace, what was once lost now was found. With a little more perspective on the situation, it doesn't surprise me that I feel a little bit of chaos, a little bit of flurry, a little bit of anxiety or intimidation to the new. After all this is a new routine, it's change. I'm finding my way. I was so excited for this change but it's a completely new direction. For a person so routine and structured, I'm going to lose things along the way because I am just laying my footprints. Here's to a new day of laying the ground work. (and hopefully not losing things!)

A Merry & Bright December
This December was one for the books! Lots of holiday events, festiveness (is that a word), celebrations, cookies (my pants tell me that!), drinks and photo ops! It made for a really memorable month and I'm kind of sad that it is over! I'm lucky to have such great friends who throw so many amazing parties! Thanks for the hospitality and making the season so bright! Until next year!
