Thursday Thoughts

Another great list I found on Pinterest. As you know, my little organizer type brain loves these types of lists...

Wordless Wednesday

I don't know why I think this is so funny but every time I pass Allison Bail Bonds in Olathe I crack up. Imagine me as a Bail Bondsman!

Fall

I was on a walk the other day and I couldn't help but capture some of the beauty of fall. Colorful leaves, crisp air, blue skies. True beauty.

Good Shopping

If you live in Kansas City you've probably heard of Urban Mining & Good JuJu, both are antique and vintage shopping experiences, for a better lack of a word, that are available to be checked out the first weekend of every month.  I hadn't been to the West Bottoms or to Good JuJu in years when I went last weekend.  Some girlfriends & I went a little later on a Saturday and never again going on a Saturday. OH MY.  Chaos in parking and little room to move and shop! I think a Friday or Sunday would make a much better choice but at any rate such a cool thing to do! The West Bottoms is now full of tons of little vintage shops and food trucks to fill tummies while you look! Lots of great finds and one of my favorite ways to go green by buying used.  I took some pictures for ideas for craft night and just for home in general. Come visit and we'll check it out!

Pickle Dip

You know those ridiculous yummy pickle wraps that are a pain in the arse to make??  Well welcome Pickle Dip! Something I had had a few years ago at the lake and forgotten about. I prepped some Pickle Dip for a recent football watch party and it was a hit.

Pickle Dip

One block of cream cheese softened
5 oz of beef lunch meat, diced
1/2 cup of sour cream
a bunch of pickles chopped and diced
Season with minced onion and parsley
Mix all together and chill for at least 2 hours.

Gourmet Eating Minus the Vino

Less than a block from my house is the Broadmoor Technical Center which occupies vocational and transitional programs for the Shawnee Mission School District. On Wednesday nights, the Broadmoor Bistro, which is their culinary program has a 4 course meal prepared by their students for $30.  I went last week with my friend Chad and it was delish! Reservations are required and they also take the KC Originals card so you can earn rewards.  Because it is a school and they cannot serve alcohol however I live close enough to have & host pre-dinner cocktails! Definitely a fun place to check out and a way to support the schools.
