Wordless Wednesday

I can't say I really care about good coolers but then my eyes spotted this one in Westlake a few weeks ago. Oh add this to the "dream list." A Pink Yeti- yes please! And actually I have seen a Yeti work. They are amazing......

War Eagle Mill

Recently I had a work trip to Arkansas. You may recall I wrote a few years ago about visiting the spot where my grandparents lived when I was a little girl.  On this particular trip I decided to venture out to War Eagle Mill which was a hot spot when we used to visit Grandma and Grandpa McCreedy.

What a fun feeling to see places you haven't seen in over 30 years and recall them. As I drove out to War Eagle Mill, I crossed Beaver Lake and I remembered the low areas where you cross the bridge and the row of condos that followed along the waters edge.  I did not recall however how obnoxiously curvy the road was and how much you needed to be paying attention. Holy moly. I was almost car sick and I don't get car sick. I know a few people who wouldn't enjoy that ride! 😉

War Eagle Mill was almost exactly how I remembered it only smaller. As a little girl this place always seemed so huge. I remembered the sounds of the water rushing, screen door banging closed after you go in the front door, cars crossing over the wooden bridge and the mill going inside.

And who could forget the little sticks of candy? I even purchased a few for good times sake! Such a fun morning exploring places of years past.

Mozz Making

Caprese salad ranks right up there on my favorite things list.  It's simple, easy to create, yet so tasty.  Recently, at Jasper's, I had the opportunity to taste their tableside caprese salad. Oh.my.gosh. So delicious. They make the mozzarella at your table, it's warm and tomatoes are home grown and fresh.  I definitely recommend this. Such a fun experience too!

Somerset Wine & Cider Bar

I have always been a fan of Somerset Ridge Winery in Paola and frequent there at least once a year. Not only does owner Cindy Reynolds Campbell recognize her patrons and interact as if you are long lost friends, the wine is actually decent! They have amazing grounds, always a great food truck and always live music. When I saw Somerset was creating a new concept in Martin City at Rosehill Gardens I was thrilled. And seriously brilliant concept! I recently visited it and it will not be my last time there! Loved every piece of the details that go into Somerset Wine & Cider Bar. How can you not be happy sipping wine amongst the plants and flowers listening to live music? They do not have their food permit yet but you can bring in food at this point.  Their wine selection is more limited than their actually winery in Paola however I highly recommend their dry rose. Go check it out! You will not be disappointed!

Wordless Wednesday

I envisioned getting back at it on the blog with a wonderful picture from the 8th Annual MGA Triple Crown Showdown for Wordless Wednesday. However as a storm rolled into joco just as 8am approached last Sunday morning, I was too busy trying to determine next steps and took no pictures.  So for Wordless Wednesday, I leave you with a video from last Sunday with clips in between the monsoon, thunder and lightning.

Thanks for your support! See you May 19, 2019!

Wordless Wednesday

Little Miss has been busy the last few days. Two less rabbits in the yard and possibly a third by the looks of this picture. She is on it. Without thinking of the disposal of them, I am glad she is ridding my yard of the creatures that destroy things.....
