Baked Apples Idea #99
If you read my blog you have probably caught on that I like cooking with apples. I think I have mentioned that before, or several times before. A few nights ago I made a recipe I will be blogging about soon, Apple Gouda Chicken. I had some leftover apple slices and wanted something fast and easy to use the rest of the apples with, well before they turned brown. I found about a 3 minute dessert, Baked Apples. In seriously 3 minutes or less I had a nice little dessert that I topped with whipped cream!
Feel Good Friday

This.
This picture brings me much joy. This is the starting line of the 6th Annual MGA Triple Crown Run. Can you believe it? 475 Registered participants. 75 volunteers. $36,000. It almost brings tears to my eyes. (I don't cry easy!) I am still in shock. (Which may explain the very delayed blog post)
MGA Triple Crown Run weekend has become one of my very favorite weekends of the year. It's right in the running with Lake weekends and ISU Football kick off weekend! Not only because of the run but because I host a BBQ in my backyard where some of my dearest and not so nearest travel to celebrate what was once a little stroll around a pond. I had chills up my spine this year as I looked around. Police blocking off the roads, KC Sporting representing with their mascot, an actual TV reporter as our emcee, hundreds of people. All because of one dream.
NEVER.GIVE.UP
I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
Blue Springs Harley was one of our biggest sponsors. Kind of cool to see them parade into the run! Well not literally but you know what I mean.
Half Pint Heros joined us again and were a huge hit!
Poop It Out sign makes another appearance!
Richman Law KC made us this GREAT photo prop! It is so cool! Thank you Brett and Megan! My mama and I and hundreds of others loved posing in it!
The Tot Trot was a huge success this year! Loved every minute of it and the ambition of the little ones. Thank you to all who registered their little tikes!
On Wednesday night before the run, in between tossing and turning I had this great idea. An instaframe photo op which lead to me pestering our dearest Bethany (Marketing & Graphics Coordinator) to pull it off. With the help of Etsy and Fed Ex, this beauty was in our hands by Friday at 10am! Posing here with one of my dearest, sweet Ashley.
The MGA Triple Crown Run ties together people I have known in varies walks of life and I LOVE that! It's the time of year that I see people that I haven't seen in several months or maybe not since the year before. Here are Mo & Linda volunteering which we SO appreciate. I met Mo & Linda at my previous job some 12 years ago. It makes me smile to think of their support. Thank you!
Another pic with one of my dearest but thankfully nearest! Posted because this picture cracks me up!
Mock Mint Juleps were an addition this year in their cute little mugs. I think they were a hit!
Special thanks to my former co-worker Patty for her work on these!
There are about a million more pictures I would load on this blog but then it would slow your computer and all kinds of things SO head on over to the MGA Triple Crown Facebook page and please check them out! If you haven't liked our page, please do.
Please know I value your support SO MUCH. I remember who came, who supported, who volunteered, who helped run the show and it makes my heart smile. This is a dream come true as we bring awareness in KC to those, like me, battling Myasthenia Gravis.
I hope you'll put MAY 21, 2017 on your calendar as we will be holding the 7th Annual MGA Triple Crown Run! Dare I say it will be the biggest and best yet?!
From the bottom of my heart. Thank you!
xoxo, Allison

Think It Out Thursday

A good reminder for this week.
It's hot, frustration and stress builds and you'd just like to rip somebody a new one.
I perhaps did that once or maybe twice this week to make my point.
But I shall end on a good note!
Now could we just get Ole' Donald to remember this? Or hopefully we really don't even have to worry about that!

Wordless Wednesday
The satisfaction of seeing something you planted ALL.BY.YOURSELF by digging up holes and placing bulbs in the ground is awesome! More than excited to see these Canna's bloom!

Cookie Bars
I love a good easy, cookie recipe. Usually for me they turn out looking like something you drove over in the car BUT I found this super easy recipe on Pinterest and it's cookie bars. So hard to mess up the appearance. Well unless you burn them! Click here for the recipe.
Once again I need to step up my game in taking food pictures! You get the point though!
Nashville
I recently went on a girls trip to the South for a wedding. We had lots of fun stops along the way, more of which I will post soon! But one of the most fun stops was out stop in Nashville. Little known fact, I actually lived in Nashville for about 3 months between high school and college. While my aunt does live there and I have visited from time to time, I have never gotten to spend much time on music row. So impressed and so fun! We spent an entire Sunday afternoon and evening going in and out of bars, listening to music and people watching. The drinks were good, the food was awesome and the friendship even better. I highly recommend taking time to explore on music row.
Listening to music at Robert's Western Wear

Meeting up with KC friends Brandy and Adam at Acme Feed & Seed Company. We ate sushi at their restaurant upstairs! As my friend Carrie said, a true hipster country bar where you can get sushi. It was delish!
It was a great Sunday and we had great accommodations at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown, within walking distance to music row. Nashville was a great little stop/break in our roadtrip!
